Why isn't Bells cooperating?
I've been hammering away at Through Neon Eyes 8, aka Power 3, for some time now, and it's still not done. I'm beginning to think the issue with Bells is that he's not ready for the series to end, so maybe I'll do one more story after this one. I'll have to see how it goes.
In other news, I've seen the preliminary cover art for Shifting Hearts 1: In the Heart of Love and it's terrific. Really eye-catching. The artist has captured the heroine and hero--Lottie and Eli--and done a fantastic job on giving it an Old West feel. I'm really happy with it and can't wait to share it with everyone. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I'm going to write this year. I have to do the second--and final--Midnight Rain book which will resolve the issues left hanging in the first book, Hajiri's Pet. Working on this without Auburnimp is going to be tricky, and I think I'm going to pretty much wind up writing some of the secondary characters out of the story.
The last book of the Dragon & Fenyx series, Immortal Salvation, comes out in March, and that will end the entire run of Dragonhope books. While I really enjoyed working in that world setting, Auburnimp's retirement has thrown a big wrench into the plans for future books. Unfortunately, it's going to be easier to bring that setting to a close rather than try and write additional books alone. (This is also one of the reasons there will only be two Midnight Rain books, rather than the three we'd originally considered doing.)
As far as stories to deal with this year, I want to finish up a few I'd started and didn't get done, which includes my 2010 NaNoWriMo zombie novel project. When that one is done I'll be looking for a horror publisher for it, as it's one of the only non-erotic romances I'd done in quite a number of years. I'd also like to complete the 2009 NaNoWriMo book, a fantasy erotic romance complete with vampires, werewolves and other supernatural beings. Not sure where that's going to be sent off to once it's finished, but I have a couple of ideas. I'd also like to write the second Shifting Hearts book that deals with Chris--Lottie's oldest son--for which I have the plot almost worked out. It's going to be the only menage in the series, and--probably--the only interracial/multicultural novel in that series. I'm still mulling over the title.
Then I have another Christmas story, m/f this time, that I'm working on, as well as the rewrite of Let it Snow.
There are also plans in the works to write the second Queen of Carnage book, because Tigress and Josef never caught up with the bad guy who was responsible for the kidnapping and torture of Josef. I'm looking forward to writing that one, I really am. I like writing them and have a relationship twist between the pair that I'm really excited about working into the new story.
Anyway, off to get some work done. I have 1099s for Shadowfire Press to handle, as well as finalizing the year end reports.
Happy Reading!
